We hope that you think often of Hunter High—both the time you spent there and the lifelong friends you made. We know that whenever the Alumnae/i Association gathers alums together for social occasions, the warmth and happiness that pervades the group is palpable—and we know part of the reason is our shared affection for our alma mater.
If you haven’t joined the AA as a dues paying member yet, we encourage you to do so now. Membership giving supports the full range of AA programs and services. Income from dues makes it possible for us to offer programs like book readings, museum tours and theater parties and organize annual events like the Autumn Reception and Reunion Weekend. Your dues also pay for AlumNotes, e-blasts, and the maintenance this website. All of these help you stay in touch with each other and the school. And as a dues-paid member you will receive discounted admission to reunion weekend and other programs.
Make a Gift to the Annual Fund
A core part of our mission is to support and assist the high school so it can continue to provide the same level of experience for current and future Hunter students that you enjoyed. Your generous gift to the Annual Fund helps us fulfill that mission and address present needs at the school. With public education at the forefront of current American dialogue, we are reminded of how extraordinary Hunter was and remains today. Gifts may be designated towards a specific program or department or unrestricted. Gifts can be in any amount and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Class Gifts
Each year, classes celebrating a reunion come together to make milestone class gifts to the Alumnae/i Association in honor of these important milestones. If you are celebrating a reunion – classes ending in 2 and 7-- any contribution (except membership dues) made during the fiscal year is automatically recognized as part of your class gift. These gifts make an important difference to students and help to ensure that our school continues to provide an extraordinary educational experience for some of New York’s smartest kids. To find out how your class can designate its gift, speak with your Class Coordinator. Click here to make your gift today
What amount should I consider?Although levels of support will vary from class to class and from person to person, most alums celebrate their milestone reunion with a “stretch gift” of up to five times their normal giving amount. Typically, alums find that a milestone reunion year is the perfect time to reflect on past giving, evaluate the impact that giving has on current students, and increase their level of support to the AA.
When do gifts need to be received? All gifts and pledges received during the 12-month period preceding your reunion celebration will count toward class gift totals. Reunions are held the first weekend in June.
Multi-year pledgesYou may want to make a pledge that will be fulfilled over a period of up to three years. Multi-year pledges made during the reunion timeframe will count at their full value toward your class gift totals. To learn more about multi-year pledges contact the AA office at 212-650-3349.
