MoMA Tours & Luncheon

Sunday, April 6, 1:00 pm or Thursday, April 10, 1:00 pm

Nora Lawrence ’97, a curatorial assistant at MoMA, will lead a private tour for alums of the exhibit “Color Chart: Reinventing Color, 1950 to Today” followed by lunch at Café 2. This is the first major exhibition devoted to the pivotal transformation which occurred midway through the 20th century, when long-held convictions regarding the spiritual truth or scientific validity of particular colors gave way to an excitement about color as a mass-produced and standardized commercial product. The exhibit features work by some forty artists ranging from Ellsworth Kelly and Gerhard Richter to Sherrie Levine and Damien Hirst.

The cost is $60 and includes entrance to the museum ($20 value), lunch, and the tour. Reservations can be made by emailing the AA office at hchsalums@yahoo.com or calling 212-772-4079. Space is limited to 23 people per tour
