2007 Distinguished Graduate Chosen by HCHS

Susan LEVINE Fuhrman '61 has been named the HCHS Distinguished Alum for 2007 and will address the graduating class at its commencement on June 26. Dr. Fuhrman is currently the president of Teachers College at Columbia University and prior to that post was dean of the School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Fuhrman has written or edited several books on reform and accountability in education and she is the founding leader of the Consortium for Policy Research in Education, a joint venture among five universities that evaluates state and local school reforms. She earned her BA and MA from Northwestern University and her Ph.D. from Columbia.
