Spring 2008 Gala honoring Marge LANDSBERG Goldsmith '61

Alums raised over $40,000 (after expenses) for Hunter at The ‘21’ Club on May 15, 2008. Almost 100 alums gathered to honor Marge LANDSBERG Goldsmith ’61 , who doubles as an alum and a former Hunter science teacher and department chair. Marge, who graduated from HCHS in 1961, returned to Hunter after earning her B.A. from Connecticut College and M.S.Ed. from the Univ. of Pennsylvania. She taught at Hunter for 41 years, including her last 11 as Chair of the Science Department. She retired in June 2007, but continues to serve as a long-standing member of the Alumnae/i Association’s Board of Directors. Susan LEVINE Fuhrman ‘61, a classmate of Marge’s from elementary school in the Bronx as well as HCHS served as Honorary Chair and keynote speaker for the evening. Susan is currently the president of Columbia University’s Teachers College.
